Maytower Condos, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada

1 and 11 Lee Centre Drive

The May Tower condominium complex is located near the intersection of McCowan road and Highway 401 in Scarborough Centre, a hub in the Eastern part of the city of Toronto. It consists of two towers joined at the pedestal with a distinctive gold colored roof. May Tower I was completed in 1998 and is 23 stories tall while sister building May Tower II was completed in 2001 and has 24 stories.

The towers share the common elements such as an indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, ladies' and men's saunas, a full two-story gymnasium equipped to play badminton and basketball, a billiards room, a playground area for kids, a ping pong room with two tables, a mahjong room, a library, and two guest suites for out of town guests. In addition, each building has its own party room with kitchen facilities and underground parking for residents and visitors.

There are no balconies but the windows are extra large and the views are getting quite interesting with all the new developments popping up in the vicinity. Lee Centre drive alone houses 6 high-rise buildings: Hillsborough Court I and II, Ellipse I and II and the two May Towers.

The whole Scarborough Centre area is undergoing a massive face-lift. Scarborough is under a redevelopment plan and the municipality is actively involved. For those thinking of buying property this area offers prices that are cheaper per square foot than what you would pay elsewhere in the Greater Toronto Area. May Tower II is a well established building where you can find affordable units that are more spacious than most condominium units in the newer developments in the area.
